Japan Festival 2006 in Viet Nam

Japan Festival 2006 will exhibit Japanese culture, art, music, sports and cuisine in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City August 18-25.

The festival will host traditional Japanese tea ceremonies,  Japanese cooking and paper-painting exhibitions, musical performances featuring traditional Japanese instruments such as the Koto zither, bamboo flute, Shamisen (three-stringed instrument), and Tsugarushamisen (thick-neck shamisen), as well as traditional Japanese yosakoi and tap dances, along with Japanese orchestral music.


Japanese contemporary culture will be represented in a Japanese cartoon festival, Japanese Jazz and Hip-Hop music, and performances by singer-actress Azusa Michiyo along with Japanese Pop-Rock bands such as the Suka Paradise Tokyo orchestra and Kemuric. Admission to the Japanese Festival will be free.
