Japan Helps Preserving Thang Long Royal Citadel

According to the Ministry of Culture and Information,  the Viet Nam-Japan Expert Committee will be set up to work out plans of preserving Thang Long royal citadel.

Based on the suggestion of the Ministry of Culture and Information on the Thang Long royal citadel preservation with the help of Japanese experts and the opinions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Planning and Investment, and Viet Nam Institute of Social Sciences, PM Nguyen Tan Dung has asked the People’s Committee of Ha Noi to cooperate with the Ministry of Culture and Information, Viet Nam Institute of Social Sciences and other involved departments to establish the committee.

Experts of the two countries will jointly study and work out plans to preserve the historical site.

The citadel’s area, which was recently discovered, covers a total of 19 hectares at 18 Hoang Dieu Street and the Ha Noi’s ancient citadel. It is believed to expand to over 40 hectares.
