A contemporary art exhibition themed ‘Winter Garden’ will be held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Japan and Vietnam.
The exhibition will present to viewers 35 art works in various materials including drawings, paintings, and videos created by 14 young Japanese artists from the latter half of the 1990s throughout the first decade of the 21st century. These art works were selected by art critic Midori Matsui.
There are also three videos by Koki Tanaka who has been selected as the representative artist for the Japan pavilion at the 55th International Art Exhibition in La Biennale di Venezia in Italy.
The display will take place at Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi from June 7-23 and at the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Culture Palace from July 6-21.
The event is being co-organized by the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam and the Consulate-General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam.
