Mai Thi Giang wins ‘Vietnam’s Next Top Model’

Mai Thi Giang, a 21-year-old girl from Hai Phong outdid two other contestants to win the title of Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2012, held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 25.

Among the top three contestants were Kha My Van and Cao Thien Trang.

Nha Truc was voted as the most favourite contestant by audiences.

Mai Thi Giang, (see photo) a 177 cm tall Hai Phong University student, weighs 48kg and measures 77-63-88. She won the judges by posing in many different postures and time and again stopped to pose for photographers who delighted in capturing her beautiful angles. 

She also performed well in collaboration with two male models.

Kha My Van has become the first contestant to perform to the background music of ‘Circus’ a number made famous by singer Britney Spears.

In tantalizingly designed glittering costumes, the girl stood in a circular wheel, showed her personality and her outstanding charm in front of photographers.

Also present on the final night were the Top 15 of Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2012 contest; Hoang Thuy, winner of Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2011; Ho My Phuong, among the top 9 at Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2010 performed in dresses designed by Adrian Anh Tuan.

The jury of the four-month contest consisted of supermodel Xuan Lan, photographer Pham Hoai Nam, designer Do Manh Cuong and Creative and Art Director Nam Trung.

The award for the winner includes a two-year working contract with BEU Model Management Company worth VND2 billion; a years gift of Shiseido cosmetics; a diamond membership card for California Fitness & Yoga  Center worth VND300 million; a cash prize worth VND200 million from Cosmopolitan magazine; a short-term training course in Tokyo in Japan, and several other attractive prizes.
