Music performances mark national unity

A concert titled “Congratulating national unity and the 1,000th anniversary of the founding of Thang Long – Hanoi” was held at Hoa Binh Theater in Ho Chi Minh City on April 28.

Famous revolutionary songs likely Len dang (Let’s go), Cung nhau di hong binh (Let's Go Forward Red Army), Dau chan phia truoc (Footprints ahead), Tu nguyen (voluntary), Giai phong Mien Nam (South Liberation), Tien ve Sai Gon (Marching towards Sai Gon) and more were performed by more than 300 artists, dancers, singers and musicians.

City’s leaders including Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai, Chairman of the  HCM City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan, Vice Chairman of the HCM City People's Council Huynh Thanh Lap and many representatives of departments in the city.

On the same day, a music festival on revolutionary war, celebrating the Victory day and the 1,000th anniversary of the founding of Thang Long – Hanoi took place at the 23/9 (September 23rd) Park in Ho Chi Minh City.

On stage was over 400 artists coming from art troupes of the Military Zone 7, the Military Zone 9, and provinces of An Giang, Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Thuan, Phu Yen, Dak Lak, and HCMC Bong Sen Theater.

Another program marking the 35th anniversary of the National Reunification Day on April 30 (1975-2010) in the Ho Chi Minh Presidential Palace Vestiges Area in Hanoi and the Reunification Palace in HCM City will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television on April 29.
