National news report writing, photo contest launched

A news report writing and photo contest themed “Impressive country and Vietnamese people” has been launched nationwide.

The contest aims to honor achievements in various fields; changes, development and images of the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City from 1945 to 2015.

It also highlights typical examples that have made outstanding contributions in developing and protecting the country, maintaining social order, public security; and Vietnamese overseas’ activities that have many influences on the development of the city.

The competition is opened to journalists, members of the Vietnam Journalist Association, Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, and professional and amateur photographers throughout the country.

Submissions of 10 to 14 photos with descriptive article of not more than 400 words and writings of 2500 -7,500 words can be sent to email;; or Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper at 399 Hong Bang, Ward 14 in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 5 by May 31, 2016.

The awards ceremony and exhibition of winning entries will take place in June 2016 on occasion of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

The contest marking the 70th anniversary of National Day and the 10th Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) is co-organized by the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper along with the Ho Chi Minh City Journalist Association.
