A photography contest entitled 'World heritage in Vietnam’ has just been launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It runs from January until July.

The competition aims to collect and release collections of various artistic photographic works on Vietnam world’s heritages sites. This is in order to promote and honor these heritage sites, and to educate the public about the preservation of our inheritance.
Vietnam has currently 13 world heritages sites recognized by UNESCO. These include: the Complex of Hue Monuments; Ha Long Bay; My Son Sanctuary; Hoi An Ancient Town; Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park; Hue Royal court music; the Gong Culture in the Central Highlands; love duet singing of Bac Ninh; the chamber music of Ca Tru; the Wood-blocks of Nguyen Dynasty, the Doctoral stone steles in the Temple of Literature; Thang Long Royal Citadel; and the Saint Giong festival.
The best photographs will be chosen and displayed at exhibitions in both Ha Noi and Da Nang on the 66th Anniversary of our National Day - September 2, 2011.
