The Relic Preservation Center of Quang Nam Province will restore 11 timber houses and temples in the World Heritage-listed old quarter of Hoi An.

The biggest job will be to fix the pillars and walls of these dilapidated buildings, and retile and seal their roofs.
The budget for the restoration, which will take well into next year, is VND16.5 billion (US$1 million). Many of the old wooden structures in Hoi An are at risk of insect infestation.
