Russian military music band to perform in Vietnam in December

The Exemplary Band of the National Guard Forces of the Russian Federation will come to Vietnam for performances in Hanoi and the coastal city of Ha Long in Quang Ninh province on December 5-10, announced the Vietnam Musicians’ Association.

The show will present to music lovers 32 musical works, including symphonies, Vietnamese and Russian songs, and popular international works.
The concerts will also feature Vietnamese artists, including People’s Artist Quang Tho and singers Tung Duong and Lan Anh.
The Military Band Service of the National Guard of Russia is the official musical unit of the National Guard of Russia. It is directly run by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Established as the Band of the Separate Operational Purpose Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Soviet Union in 1956, the band has numerous performances at major events, such as the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, the Friendship Games and the 12th World Festival of Youth and Students in 1986.
The band has 80 artists, including Chief Military Conductors and Honored Artists of Russia, such as Colonel Vladimir Vasyak, Head of the Military Band Music Service; colonel Igor Lewandovsky and lieutenant colonelArkady Shmelev.
The program is one of the activities marking the the Russia-Vietnam 2019 Cross Friendship Year, said musician Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association.
