Spring Press Festival 2011 showcases countries newspapers

The 2011 Spring Press Festival kicked off at the Youth Culture House in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City on January 20 with 40 booths allocated to central and local news agencies.

The event showcases hundreds of products in such fields as print, radio, television and online newspapers and magazines.

An outstanding feature is a large booth displaying cover pages of all newspapers and 12 salient events related to economy, politics, society and culture. The 12 events were all part of the news during the year 2010.

Within the framework of the festival, other activities such as art performances, comedy, circus and magic shows, a food festival and a health consultancy also took place.

The festival ends on January 21 and all displayed publications will be distributed to students and workers.

The organizing board will also give away prizes to the best decorated cover page.

The nomination for the first price for best decorated cover page went to Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, the second prize to Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper and the third to Tuoi Tre Newspaper.

The organizing board also nominated 20 consolation prizes to other newspapers.
