The “Perfect Spy” Tops Bestseller List

A novel written by Larry Berman, entitled ‘The Perfect Spy’, about the incredible double life of Pham Xuan An, a Time magazine reporter and Vietnamese Communist agent, topped the best sellers list, said a distributor yesterday.

“The fact that the book has already hit number one in our chart shows how incredibly excited customers are about it. A total of 7,000 copies have already been sold within 5 days of its publication on October 1st, 2007”, said a spokesman from the Fahasa, a Ho Chi Minh City book distribution company and the sole representative distributor in the southern Viet Nam.

The distributor will be ordering 10,000 copies of publication to meet demand, and will distribute them to customers in next week.

The price of the book is between VN$90.000(US$5.5) to VN$120.000(US$7.5).

" At this price, it is quite expensive for the local book market but seems to have little effect on the quantity of sales", said the distributor.

The book has captivated millions of readers and provides the objective view of Viet Nam War; it is a book well worth reading.
