Phan Hoang Minh Thu and Nguyen Thuy Van were the first and second runners-up.
Ms Dung, 1.78 meters tall, won a cash prize of VND150 million (US$9,000), a foreign tour, and a crown made of gold and silver worth VND300 million (US$18,500).
She announced she would contribute 90 percent of the cash prize to Quang Nam Province’s Fund for the Poor.
Pacific Airlines, one of the pageant sponsors, also announced Ms Dung can travel free on any of its flights for two years.
The first and second runners-up received cash prizes of VND80 million (US$4,800) and VND60 million (US$3,600).
Other prizes, worth VND20 million (US$1,200) each, went to Miss Photogenic Thach Thi Hong Nhung, Miss Beach Lam Thu Hang, Miss Friendly Dau Thi Hong Phuc, and Miss Ao Dai Le Thi May.
The titled “Most Favorite Contestant Voted by Viewers” went to Vu Thi Hoang Diep with a reward of VND10 million (US$600).
The Miss Viet Nam pageant, held every two years since 1988, is the country’s most prestigious beauty contest and is organized by Tien Phong (Vanguard) newspaper.
