Traditional Boat Race Marks Khmer Festival

A traditional boat race was held on the Long Binh River in the Mekong Delta Province of Tra Vinh to celebrate the Khmer people’s Ok-Om-Bok festival yesterday.

Traditional boat race is held to mark the Khmer people's Ok-Om-Bok festival on November 12.

Ten teams from the provinces of Can Tho, Hau Giang, Vinh Long, and Tra Vinh took part in amateur and open categories.

The team from Tra Vinh’s Cang Long District won the first prize in the open category. The second and third places went to Hau Giang and Vinh Long.

Hundreds of thousands of Khmer and other people from around the country watched the races.
