Vietnam clinches four first prizes at piano contest

Students from the Vietnam National Academy of Music brought home four first prizes from the recent China – ASEAN youth piano competition in the Chinese city of Nanning, reported the Quan doi Nhan dan (People’s Army) daily.

Bui Khanh Linh and Pham Nguyen Nguyet Ha won two first prizes at the contest

Pham Nguyen Nguyet Ha ranked first in the 13 to 15 age group and Bui Khanh Linh in the 16 to 18 age group.

Nguyen Trung Duc triumphed in the 10 to 12-year-old group and Vo Minh Quang was the winner among 7 to 9-year-olds.

Vietnam also secured two third prizes at the competition.

The contest, held from August 3-6, featured more than 400 pianists from Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, Malaysia, Hong Kong (China) and China.-VNA
