Vietnamese acrobats win silver medal at Int’l Circus Festival

Two acrobats from the Ho Chi Minh Circus Troupe have won silver medals at the Figueres International Circus Festival in Spain, which was held on February 21-25, said Ho Van Thanh, head of the circus troupe.

In September 2012, the flying trapeze act by Hoang Anh and Thu Hiep won the Silver Bear at the Nikulin International Circus Festival and the Golden Horse (gold medal) at the Almaty-Kazakhstan International Circus Festival.

Earlier, the tightrope walking act by Thu Hien won two prizes at the Figueres International Circus Festival in Spain, and the flying trapeze act by Hoang An and Thu Hiep won the silver prize at the Southeast Asian Circus Festival.

Both the circus acts were also performed at the 11th Moscow International Youth Circus Festival in Russia.

Russian acrobat Yana Serdyukova also won the silver medal at the Figueres International Circus Festival in Spain while another Russian acrobat and a Chinese acrobat grabbed gold medals. Canadian and Russian acrobats won bronze medals.

In all, 27 performances were presented at the Figueres International Circus Festival in Spain with 14 countries participating, namely, the US, Russia, China, Brazil, Japan, Vietnam, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Argentina and Spain.
