Vietnamese Medicine Book Awarded APPA Prize

A book on medicinal plants and herbal remedies entitled Vietnamese Medicinal Plants and Medicaments by professor Do Tat Loi has been given a special award by the Asian Pacific Publishers Association (APPA).

The APPA’s annual prize is awarded to works featuring high-quality design and content, translation difficulty level (if the works are translated works), number of copies published and the books price.

98 works from 6 APPA member countries including China, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Thailand and Viet Nam took part in this year's awards.

Awards are given out for three categories: children’s books, research and academic books and general titles. The gold prize for research and academic works went to the translated book A Stone Cave of Chinese Buddhism from Korea.

Vietnamese Medicinal Plants and Medicaments was first published in 1977 and was reprinted by the Medicine Publishing House in 2006. The work introduces the chemical compositions and medicinal uses of 800 Vietnamese plants.
