A deputy director at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has been reprimanded for his responsibility in providing inaccurate results for this year’s senior high school entrance exams.
The department received 1,133 requests for reexamination. After reexamining results, it announced the wrong results of a student’s math exam.
The department found that on re-checking the junior high school student’s results, she had scored 8.5 out of 10 rather than the zero she had previously been given.
We will send an apology and the correct result to the student and to the school she wants to attend in District 12, said the department's director Huynh Cong Minh.
He said the problem was caused by officials who had confused detachable heads of exam papers.
Together with Le Hong Son, another official has also received a reprimand.
The official is a teacher, appointed to the reexamining council and was in charge of announcing exam results.
