German University to Be Established In Viet Nam

In his visit to Viet Nam, Udo Corts, Minister of Higher Education, Research and the Arts of the State of Hessen, and Viet Nam’s Education and Training Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a German University in Viet Nam.

Also, the Minister of Higher Education, Research and the Arts gave 45 scholarships each worth VND3.6 million to excellent students who study at universities of Foreign Trade, Trade and Construction in Ha Noi.

At the scholarship award ceremony, the president of World University Services, Mr. Kambiz Ghawani, announced that scholarships will be granted to students regularly.

For instance, 85 scholarships will be awarded for the next school-year. 1,240 scholarships have been presented to Vietnamese students as of 1992.

The ceremony took place in the Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (the Temple of Literature ) -  the first Viet Nam's national university) on May 23.
