HCMC authorities agree to extend school break as coronavirus fears mount

The People’s Committee in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday agreed to extend school break by one week, fearing novel coronavirus spreading through schools after it was introduced to Vietnam this month from China, where it was first detected in Wuhan,

Accordingly, all students from kindergartens to high schools are allowed to stay at home till February 10.
As of February 2, the Ministry of Education and Training reported that 19 cities and provinces allowed students to stay at home to prevent the virus spreading.
