The U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the U.S.-based Institute of International Education have launched an essay contest in honor of the Earth Day, April 22.
The competition, whose theme is “How Do You View Environmental Issues in Viet Nam?”, is open to any native speaker of Vietnamese currently enrolled full-time in a high school, college, or university in the country
Each essay must be typed and no longer than 1,000 words. Essays will be judged on relevance to the theme of the contest; clarity of the thesis; originality and creativity; rhetorical sophistication; and technical quality of writing, including organization, grammar, syntax, and form.
The top five winners will receive prizes and certificates, and will be invited to present their essays at an award ceremony to be held on April 26 at the Kim Do Hotel.
The deadline for this competition is April 15. Students can submit their entries by mail to Institute of International Education, 69 Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Binh Thanh District or by email to email@example.com.
