Vietnam snatches four medals at 2015 International Biology Olympiad

After finishing the eight days International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2015) in Denmark, four Vietnamese students excellently won one silver, two bronze medals and one consolation prize, announced the Ministry of Education and Training.

The silver medal went to Le Thi Nguyet Hang from Le Quy Don High School in Da Nang city with 294, 87 points.

The bronze medals belonged to Pham Minh Duc from Le Hong Phong High school in Nam Dinh with 277, 24 points; and Le Xuan Luong from Hanoi National University of Natural Sciences’ High School with 255, 36 points.

Pham Thi Ngoc Yen from Lam Son High school in Thanh Hoa province finished with 229, 45 points to earn the consolation prize.

Ministry of Education and Training yesterday held a welcome ceremony for Vietnamese students at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi after finishing IBO 2015.

On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Nghia offered VND 10 million for a silver medal, VND 7 million for each bronze medal, and VND 3 million for consolation prize.

The 27th International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2016) will take place in Hanoi on July 17- 24, 2016.


The 26th International Biology Olympiad was held in Denmark, with attendance of 238 candidates from 61 countries and territories.

The organizational board presented total 26 gold, 48 silver, 72 bronze medals and 24 consolation prizes to winners at IBO 2015.
