HBSO presents famous ballet performance ‘The Nutcracker’

The Ho Chi Minh City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra (HBSO) introduces performance of magnificent Tchaikovsky ballet, “Nutcracker” at the municipal Opera House from December 6-8.

HBSO’s Nutcracker was created by the Norwegian choreographer Johanne Jakhelln Constant as part of the Vietnam-Norway Transposition program, and was first seen in Saigon in 2011. 
The HBSO orchestra and the HBSO female choir will take part once again in this production along with artist Do Hoang Khang Ninh; Meritorious Artists of Ho Phi Diep, Dam Duc Nhuan and Tran Hoang Yen; and conductor Tran Nhat Minh.
The musical performance “Nutcracker” is based on the fairy tale “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” written by E.T.A Hoffman.Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky turned the story into a ballet, which became one of Tchaikovsky’s most famous compositions, perhaps the most popular ballet in the world. It is the most awaited ballet during the Christmas season and New Year.The ballet will bring great moments and fun not only for children but also for the audience who love classical ballet.
