Around 9,200 girls aged over 11 in the Mekong delta province of Can Tho and the northern province of Thanh Hoa will receive free cervical cancer vaccinations starting this week, the head of the Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Nguyen Tran Hien, said on November 9.

The vaccinations are a part of a project funded by Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), which focuses on basic vaccines for women and children around the world.
