Nguyen Van Sau, the director of the Ho Chi Minh City International Health Quarantine Center, said supervision had been strengthened at the airport. No symptoms of swine flu have been detected.

The Ministry of Health will assist the airport with two devices that measure body temperature and other necessary equipment to rapidly deal with any suspected swine flu, Dr. Duong said.

On the same day, Dr. Duong’s officials and the Hanoi Department of Health checked and supervised epidemic prevention at Noi Bai International Airport.

According to Nguyen Tien Hoa, deputy head of the International Health Quarantine Center at Noi Bai, the center at present has one machine to measure body temperature. If there are any suspected cases, a passenger will be immediately isolated.

Mr Hoa added that there are just five doctors at the center and hopes five more will be added to strengthen quarantine procedures.
