The 28th Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses will be held in Thailand's northern city of Chiang Mai from October 3 to November 3, said Somchai Charnnarongkul, deputy director of the National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Safety (ACFS).
Somchai predicted that 350 government officials, representatives from more than 100 countries and 38 international organizations would take part in the conference, whose goal is to debate international food standards.
"It will also be an opportunity for Thailand to show to other countries its potential of food exports with safety and nutrition," Somchai told the state-run Thai News Agency
