Five Hospitals to be Expanded in HCMC, Hanoi

The Prime Minister has approved the extension of five large hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

These projects aim to provide relief from overcrowding in existing hospitals.

Development in Hanoi will be Bach Mai and Viet-Duc Hospital.  Development in HCMC will be Children Hospital, Tumor Hospital and Hospital 175.

The Ministry of Defense will coordinate the expansion of Hospital 175. 

The rest will be coordinated by the Ministry of Health.  All construction will start this year.

Each hospital in Hanoi will gain 1,000 beds.  The construction is expected to finish 2016.

The construction in Children Hospital and Tumor Hospital in HCMC is expected to finish 2015.

The extension of Hospital 175 will have 500 beds and is expected to finish 2016.
