Free joint replacement surgery for poor patients at Military Hospital 175

The Ho Chi Minh City-based Military Hospital 175 planned to perform 50 free joint replacement surgery for poor patients in four days.

The hospital and surgeons from the Operation Walk Chicago, a medical humanitarian mission that provides free hip and knee replacement surgeries, yesterday organized examination for those who suffer from joint diseases for surgeries.
At the yesterday meeting, a representative of the Operation Walk Chicago showed delight at the launch of the free joint replacement surgery in the hospital to work with Vietnamese doctors to help poor patients.
Hospital director Dr. Nguyen Hong Son thanked American surgeons of the Operation Walk Chicago, expecting that free joint replacement surgeries will be organized more regularly between the two countries to help low-income patients.
The hospital said that many poor patients are unable to walk independently because of suffering joint diseases and they cannot afford surgery cost. Hence, this time, needy patients and beneficiaries of top welfare policies can enjoy free joint replacement operations carried out by the hospital and the US’s organization.
