Health authority warns to avoid jelly-fish, shell-fish

Fourteen people were taken to hospitals in Quang Nam’s Phu Ninh District after suffering from shellfish and jellyfish poisoning.

The Food Administration of Vietnam (FAV) warns people not feed children jellyfish and shellfish.  The administration also warns to not eat raw jellyfish or use jellyfish products in food.

A measure to prevent shellfish poisoning is soaking shellfish in fresh water many times to rid of impurities. Symptoms of poisoning include headache, breathing failure and low blood-pressure.
