Health institutes propose to award medal to man who donates organs

Relatives of an engineer who suffer brain death from accident agreed to donate his organs to save other patients, announced the Vietnam National Coordinating Center for Human Organ Transplantation yesterday.
The center said it received organs from Nguyen Xuan Hai, 37, who had an accident while on business trip in the Mekong delta province of Kien Giang’s Phu Quoc District.
Understanding that the man can’t survive, his elder brother and his wife informed the hospital about their desire. The center has contacted with Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City which sent team of surgeons to take organs for four transplants
To acknowledge his good deed, the Center and Cho Ray Hospital proposed Health Minister to award him commemorative certificate and medal for people health.
