Health Minister offers best possible care to patient losing both kidneys

As per a Ministry of Health directive, a group of doctors from Hue Central Hospital in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue arrived at Can Tho General Hospital on Wednesday to examine Hua Cam Tu whose both kidneys were removed earlier in a goofed operation.

Professor Bui Duc Phu, director of Hue Central Hospital and vice professor Hoang Van Tung, head of the hospital’s Kidney Division examined 37-year-old Tu, who has been offered the best possible treatment by Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien.

Experts from the central hospital said Tu’s health had improved as she did not suffer fever or and infection anymore and was able to eat a rice gruel with some milk, besides also sleeping well.

Professor Phu said that as soon as the hospital can match a kidney with Tu’s body, they would go ahead with the operation.

Dr. Le Quang Vo, director of Can Tho General Hospital told Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper that amongst the six kidney donors, one had the same blood group as that of Tu. The hospital will of course conduct more tests before the transplant.

Tu and her husband expressed how they were so very touched by the Health Minister’s personal concern for her well being, saying that they were overwhelmed by the attention and care of the doctors and also the people.
