Local druggists cut prices

Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Health says prices of many medicines have fallen by 14 percent to 34 percent following a decrease in oil prices and signs of stability in the foreign exchange market.

A department official lauded the firms that have reduced the prices saying the action demonstrated their goodwill towards the citizens.

Medicine prices at hospitals in the south are not higher than the market price, and are even lower in some places, according to a report by inspectors under the Ministry of Health.

The domestic pharmaceutical firms that have decreased their prices are Hau Giang, Vidiphar, Vien Dong and September 2.
