Ministry of Health Dispatches Measures to Fight Bird Flu

The Ministry of Health dispatched preventative measures against bird flu, A/H5N1, on February 6.

The epidemic is developing in China with a high possibility of crossing into Vietnam, according to the ministry. Two deaths from infection in the Binh Phuoc and Dong Thap provinces were reported on January 2014.

The ministry asks People’s Committee chairpersons to strengthen security in border regions. They will be collecting samples of pneumonia patients in hospitals and citizens from infected areas. Infected people will be quarantined during treatment.

The ministry warns citizens to avoid eating poultry of unknown origin.
