Second investigation into 38 local soy sauce factories has shown positive results. Most of the samples are confirmed to have no 3-MCPD and some have a very low (acceptable) level of 3-MCPD (under 1mg/kg).
A clean soy sauce production chain
According to recent reports, five soy sauce producers including Tuong Lai Food Processing Company, the Aquatic Products Import-Export and Trade Joint Stock Company, Minh Khang factory, Y Phung factory and Rung Huong Industrial Co. Ltd have stopped producing soy sauce.
The HCMC Health Department carried out this investigation and the results were reported to HCMC People’s Committee, HCMC Police Department, the Trade Department and the Market Control Department on July 2.
