Vietnam records no case of bird flu H5N8

Vietnam has not recorded any case of bird flu H5N8 yet however the country has closely controlled and watched the disease, said a health official yesterday.

Deputy Head of the Department of Animal Health Dam Xuan Thanh said that the department has warned people not to be neglect it because it would be likely to take place in the country, especially during the year- end when the cold weather is conducive to the disease

Recently the bird flu H5N8 has reoccurred in some European countries such as Holland and England. Test results shows that gene structure of virus H5N8 causing bird flu in these countries is similar to that of in China, the South Korea and Japan in the beginning of the year.

Mr. Thanh said that the virus H5N8 is a regeneration of all forms of virus including H5N1 virus that is plaguing in the Asian countries.
