Vietnamese scientists given Alexandre Yersin prize for their works

The Swiss-Vietnamese Association yesterday gave Alexandre Yersin awards to four outstanding works in medicine field.

The award is to encourage medical researchers in Vietnam to make significant contribution to the medical literature, and recognize outstanding research achievements, enhancing the cooperation between Vietnam and scientists in the world to improve patient care in the globe generally and in Vietnam particularly.
Dr. Vuong Ngoc Lan and her partners were awarded with the work “Frozen embryos are just as good for IVF as fresh ones”; Dr. Ha Tan Duc with the work “Model to anticipate mortality in patients in emergency ward”; Dr. Ho Pham Thuc Lan and her partners with “The relative contributions of lean mass and fat mass to osteoporosis” and Dr. Ngo Tat Trung and partners with “Development of PCR-based method for diagnosis of septicemia”.
Four works have been selected from 80 entries. The scientific committee comprising professors and physicians from Switzerland, France and Australia evaluated the works based on five criteria including scientific quality, significance, innovation, scientific impact, and journal prestige.
