Vietnamese surgeons use 3D printing to make replacement bones

Surgeons of Saint Paul Hospital in Hanoi yesterday announced to use a material called 3D printed PEEK for bone replacement operations on two patients.
The material PEEK which is similar properties to bone with the length of nearly 20 cm to create new pelvis using a 3D printer for two men who both have acute tumor in pelvis.
Orthopedic surgeon carried out the first transplant of its kind on two unnamed men in their 50s and 40s. The new technique is expected to open new treatment for patients with tumor in bones.
