WHO needs more time to monitor pollution after Rang Dong blaze

Regarding the environment pollution after the Rang Dong Light Source & Vacuum Flask blaze, World Health Organization Representative in Vietnam Dr. Kidong Park yesterday said that more time is needed to keep track on pollution impacts on human health.

As he explained that data collected by Vietnamese agencies in a short time after the blaze is difficult to compared with WHO’s annual warning level.
However, WHO leader believed in Vietnamese poison experts of Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi who can handle the incident emphasizing that WHO experts will help Vietnamese peers if necessary.
He added that WHO is keeping an eye on the similar fire in South Africa last time.
Over 150 people arrived in grass-root medical centers for testing, said deputy head of the Department of Health in Hanoi Tran Thi Nhi Ha; but none of them experienced abnormal symptoms.
