600 firms to attend Vietfood & Beverage in HCMC in August

Nearly 600 enterprises from 22 countries and territories will attend the international exhibitions on food and beverages (VietFood & Beverage 2018) and processing and packaging (ProPack Vietnam 2018).

The event will be opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City’s district 7 in four days (from August 7 to 10).
The exhibitions organized Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company will feature 600 booths, with six pavilions for domestic enterprises in the area of 15,000 square meters. It is expected to attract more than 18,000 visitors.
It will introduces products of the food and beverage sector, including food; agro-forestry-fisheries; beverages; nutritional food; medicines; food materials and additives; and equipment and machinery for producing, packaging and preserving food and brand name franchise.
Vietnam is considered a market with strong potential for food and beverage processors and producers.
According to Vietnam Report’s data, consumer index of beverage and food sector in first nine months of 2018 increased by 8.1 percent and 10.2 percent compared to same period last year.
Consumers spend most on food and beverage (around 35 percent). Beer and non-alcohol drinks and food have seen the sharp rise in the consumer goods. Beverage and food industry are making up 15 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product and it is predicted to increase more in the future.
Specially, this year, there will be booths to display organic and natural food of local and foreign enterprises at Vietfood & Beverage – Propack Vietnam 2019.
According to the Industry and Commercial Information Center’s latest report, organic farming is a trend in the world. Globally, the land for growing organic vegetables is 50.9 million hectare and it is projected to earn $ 81.6 billion.
Apart from that, 33/63 cities and provinces in Vietnam have grown organic farms in the area of 76,600 hectare.
Approximately 60 corporations, enterprises have poured investment into organic agriculture which is suitable to develop in the S-shaped country.
The event will take place in Hanoi in next November.
