800 poor patients receive free treatment

Eight hundred disadvantaged patients in Dong Nai Province were provided with free examinations and medicines on July 5 under the program “Affection toward people living along Truong Son Road,” launched by Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper and the Voluntary Doctor’s Association.

The program also gave patients electrocardiogram and osteoporosis checks.

Three hundred patients were given free haircuts. Gifts also offered to 200 elderly people who live alone.

To continue the program, from July 22 -27, SGGP will join with HCMC Voluntary Medical Club, Huong Viet Coffee and Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group to give health checks to a further 1,000 disadvantaged patients in Champasak Province, Laos.

A first aid station will be built as gift to border soldiers in Kon Tum Province.

Participating in the program are doctors and nurses from the Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University, HCMC Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, Cho Ray Hospital, District 5 Hospital and District 8 Hospital.
