The HCM City People’s Committee has recently approved the District 10 People’s Committee’s proposal for extending Ky Hoa Night Market's  operation until January 24, 2009 or 29th of the twelfth month of the new Lunar year (Tet holidays).

The extension is aimed at maintaining  bustling business activities for traders of the market before Tet holidays.

The HCM City People’s Committee also instructed relevant authorities to work with the District 10 People’s Committee to propose a new place for the market to move to. The proposal is requested to be submitted to the HCM City People’s Committee for consideration by the end of the month.

In note, earlier in October, the District 10 Urban and Housing Management announced that it would  liquidate stall leasing contracts with 230 traders of the Ky Hoa Night Market on December 1, 2008. The clearance of Ky Hoa Night Market is said to be in line with the city’s overall construction plans.
