At the meeting with the Ho Chi Minh City delegation, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee of Cao Bang Mr. Lai Xuan Mon said that Cao Bang has over 300 kilometers of border line with economic and trans-border trade development potentiality, many ethnic minority groups like Tay, Nung, Mong and Dao.
The province has tourism advantages, including many historical tourist routes; however, tourism exploitation and transport infrastructure, human resource and policy mechanisms are big challenges for the locality.
Tourism and agriculture are determined as two breakthroughs of the province.
Ho Chi Minh City is the place where President Ho Chi Minh left the country for finding out ways of national salvation and Cao Bang is the place where the late President returned to Vietnam from abroad, said Mr. Lai Xuan Mon.
Ho Chi Minh City is the country’s leading economic hub so Cao Bang desired to receive the support and cooperation from the city.
Speaking at the meeting, the city Party chief stressed that Ho Chi Minh City always remembers and respects contributions of authorities, residents and ethnic minority groups in the country in general and in Cao Bang in particular.
On the coming Lunar New Year, Secretary Nguyen Thien Nhan sent New Year’s greeting to leaders, local people and ethnic minority groups in the Northern mountainous province.
He expressed the hope that Cao Bang will solve substantive problems and make new breakthroughs to promote its advantages, especially Cao Bang will be successful in tourism development, maintaining border security.
Cao Bang will continue harvesting achievements, creating motivation and faith for people, keeping border security, buiding trans- border trade development, promoting cooperation relations with neighboring countries, desired Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan.
