Mr. Hai thanked the Myanmar Government and relevant agencies for assisting businesses and investors in HCMC on investment opportunities in Myanmar.
The City is making it easier for Myanmar firms to seek cooperation opportunities here and in March 2012, HCMC and Myanmar’s Yangon City signed a co-operation agreement, Mr. Hai noted.
Nyan Tun said the signing of the agreement will offer the two cities a chance to bolster growth and development in various fields. He expressed his belief that bilateral cooperation will keep thriving comprehensively through the exchange of visits by the two countries’ leaders.
He said Myanmar wishes to strengthen economic development. Last year, the country issued a new law to lure foreign investments, thus offering chances for foreign investors, including from Vietnam.
At an earlier meeting with Nyan Tun, City Mayor Le Hoang Quan said he is willing to share experiences with Myanmar in poverty reduction.
During his stay in HCMC, Nyan Tun visited Cu Chi relic site, the City hi-tech park and Amata industrial complex in southern Dong Nai Province.
