City walk raises funds to support AO victims

More than 10,000 Government employees and people walked in Ho Chi Minh City on August 9 to raise charity funds for people affected by Agent Orange and mark the Day for Vietnamese AO Victims, August 10.

The walk was organized by the city Red Cross Association and Vietnam Television.

Benefactors donated VND3.8 billion (US$217,000) to the city’s sponsor fund for AO victims.

The AO victim’s association in the Central Highlands Province of Kon Tum held an exchange program titled “common sense and responsibility” on the same day.

At the program, 50 individuals and organizations donated over VND420 million (US$24,000) for victims.

The association had also funded construction of 17 houses for families of victims.
