Germany wants to build a Germany House, a center for diplomatic, trade, cultural and educational agencies of the European country in Viet Nam, in Ho Chi Minh City, said visiting German Deputy Prime Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

The German Vice Chancellor cum Foreign Minister said this during his March 1 meeting HCMC Party Secretary Le Thanh Hai and City Chairman Le Hoang Quan to discuss cooperation between German localities and HCMC, as well as key projects between the two sides.
Besides the newly-signed project to build a German university in Viet Nam, the government of Germany expects to build a German high school in Ho Chi Minh City.
In Ha Noi the day before, Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Steinmeier and his Vietnamese counterpart agreed to take 2010 as the Year of Viet Nam-Germany Relationship, where the two countries will organize a Germany Festival in Viet Nam and a Viet Nam Festival in Germany to mark the 35th anniversary of the two nations’ diplomatic ties.
Mr. Steinmeier and his entourage, including representative of German companies and business groups, left HCMC on March 1, wrapping up a three-day official visit to Viet Nam.
