HCMC and Laos strengthen traditional relationship

Mr. Thongloun Sousilih, Deputy Prime Minister of Laos led a delegation of Lao senior officials to visit the Thu Thiem Tunnel, Vo Van Kiet Highway, East-West Avenue, and construction projects in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City on July 15.

Mr. Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee and Mr. Hua Ngoc Thuan, Deputy Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee welcomed and accompanied the Lao delegation.

Mr. Thongloun Sousilih expressed his joy at the changes and development in Ho Chi Minh City. He showed his pleasure at the comprehensive development of Vietnam-Laos relationship over the years.

He affirmed that Laos will learn from experiences in urban management and infrastructure development from Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam-Laos traditional relationship was firstly initiated by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane and fostered by later generations of Party and State leaders and the people of both countries during the last 50 years.

The relationship has become an invaluable treasure for the two countries.

On behalf of the Laotian Party, State and people, Mr. Thongloun Sousilih expressed his thanks for the whole-hearted support of the Party, State and people in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Laotian high-ranking delegation will attend Vientiane and Champasak Trade and Investment Promotion Conference on July 16, and activities marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos, and the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Friendship Treaty between the two countries.
