HCMC authorities support poor motorized tricycle drivers to transfer job

People’s committees in 24 districts were asked to list the number of poor motorized tricycle drivers and four-wheeler drivers to support them to do another job after quitting driving these vehicles in this month.
Deputy Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan yesterday said district people’s committees must check whether poor motorized tricycle drivers and four-wheeler drivers have received aid to do another job as per the Decision 04/2009/QĐ-UBND.
Moreover, local administrations should report possible hiccups along the way and solutions in order to help people to escape from poverty.
The Department of Transport and police forces and relevant agencies will send report of assessment on the use of such vehicles in present traffic condition and other matters including vehicle quality, real demand of vehicle, pollution fight.
Later, a meeting between the Department of Labor, Invalid and Social Affairs, the Department of Transport, the Department of Finance, the Department of Planning and Investment, people’s committees in districts and relevant agencies will be convened to review what had done for poor vehicle drivers.
Meeting participants will also discuss policy implementation and barriers during the procedure proposing how to handle traffic safety and create best condition for laborers to make money to People’s Committee.
