HCMC celebrates French National Day

A celebration of the 228th anniversary of the French National Day (on July 14, 1789- 2017) yesterday took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Friendship House.

At the ceremony, Chairwoman of Vietnam-France Friendship Association (the association) in Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung stressed that the relationship between Vietnam and France has strongly developed in the fields of politic, economy, culture and society. 

Ho Chi Minh City and the French localities as Lyon city and Rhône-Alpes have been also promoted cooperation for urban projects, training and lighting system…
Currently, French enterprises have invested 492 projects in Ho Chi Minh City with total capital of US$ 3.4 billion. 
Last year, the trade turnover between Ho Chi Minh City and France reached at US$ 885 million.

French Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Emmanuel Ly-Batallan expressed his pleasure at active development of the two countries in the previous years; he pledged to try boosting trade and investment cooperation between the two sides during his tenure in Vietnam.
