HCMC continues tardy ways in issuing business licenses

More than five years ago, the Ho Chi Minh City Planning and Investment Department began to streamline procedures for incorporation of businesses, promising to issue a license within 15 days from application and just seven days if applied online. But, to this day, it takes much longer in practice.

Ms. Que of Viet Ha Company told Sai Gon Giai Phong that a year ago, it took her company two months to get the license after being asked to submit more and more papers.

The process would be faster if service agencies are allowed to act on behalf of applicants, she said.

A department official said service agencies are allowed to operate and some have already registered.

But the slow pace of work is inevitable because there are over 10,000 applications each month.
