HCMC increases vegetables farmers’ awareness of pesticide

People’s Committee in Ho Chi Minh City asked related agencies and departments to tighten the control over the use of pesticide in planting vegetables in the city.

Accordingly, the city asked the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development liaising with other agencies to instruct how to use pesticides in cooperatives as well as safe planting program as per VietGAP (Good Agricultural Practices) to easily trace the origin of the agricultural produces.

The agencies must ensure the cooperation between farmers and enterprises. All products must be purchased, besides, the farmers will receive preferential policies from cooperatives.

In addition, the city  also asked local authorities where farmers plant vegetables to raise awareness in overuse of pesticide.
