HCMC leaders greet teachers on Vietnam Teacher’s Day

A delegation of Ho Chi Minh City leaders visited and congratulated the late professor Tran Dai Nghia’s wife, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Khanh, on November 17 on the occasion of Vietnam Teacher’s Day (November 20).

The delegation was led by Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee, Le Thanh Hai; Head of the City Party Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization, Mrs. Than Thi Thu; and Director of the municipal Department of Education and Training, Le Hong Son.

The leaders also visited Professor Chu Pham Ngoc Son, deputy chairman of the HCMC Union of Science and Technology Associations. Secretary Le Thanh Hai expressed his deep gratitude to the Professor for his outstanding contribution to teaching and scientific research activities, even at the age of 75.

On the same day, a delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Van Dua, Standing Deputy  Secretary of the HCMC Committee visited the family of the late professor Vu Dinh Hoe, former Minister of Education and Training, and Minister of Justice, and offered best wishes to his wife, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Truong.

The delegation also paid a visit to professor Tran Chi Dao, former Deputy Minister of Education and Training, and director of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

In addition, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Committee honored and awarded the title of “Typical young teacher” to 184 teachers at all levels from kindergartens to universities of the city at the municipal Youth Cultural House on November 17.

Central Party Member and Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha expressed deep  appreciation of all the awardees, praising their dedication and virtuous life, their significant contribution to social activities, teaching, and providing educational initiatives and ideas to improve teaching methods.
